The Gesellschaft für Deutsch-Indische Zusammenarbeit e.V. invites you to “Spirit of India Concert – Flute Maestro Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia & Ensemble” on 01.06.2017 at 19:30 Uhr in Gasteig, Carl-Orff-Saal, Munich.
Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia is the most famous master of the Bansuri (North Indian bamboo flute) and artistic director for classical Indian music of the Rotterdam Conservatory. His album “Making Music”, along with John McLaughlin, Jan Garbarek and Zakir Hussain, is described by critics as “one of the most inspiring ever recorded albums with East-West fusion”. He uses the dynamic contrasts of his breath as a means to conquer the hearts of the people. Intriguing rhythms of passion and longing, his heartfelt melodies and compositions have a spiritual depth and, in a natural way, combine Indian and European influences. Accompanied by Jean Christophe Bonnafous (Bansuri) and Niti Ranjan Biswas (Tabla), Pandit Chaurasia will present not only Indian but also fusion music pieces.
Organizer: Gesellschaft für Deutsch-Indische Zusammenarbeit e.V. (German-Indian Association), with friendly support of the Department of Culture, City of Munich.
